How do I set up my fishing pole for trout and/or bass?

Can someone link me to a website that shows me how to set up a fishing pole. I have done everything setup except for the hook, weight, etc. I'll be fishing trout and bass in a New York Reservoir. So any tips would help, thanks!

    Does anyone know where I can get sammy lures, they are made by jensen, and they are for drift fishing for salmon and steelhead. they have a hook, and a painted piece of cork or balsa. with a piece of yarn on th end. if anyone can help, please do so, I just lost the last on I had this weekend. they are discontinued I believe.       i have been looking for a good place to fish for rainbow and brown trout in my area. don't suggest the Willamette river. i have been to blue lake and hag lake and they were no luck at all. if you do have a place that you have caught some fish let me know what you used so i might be able to get more then a bluegill on my hook. thanks

      How should I go about catching steelhead? I have heard that tying a bit of red yard to an octopus hook and using a small weight to bounce it along the bottom works, but do the like still cut bait? If so, what? How should I set up my rig? Thanks.
