I,ll be targeting speckled trout on the Mississippi Gulf Coast tomorrow.We have had some heavy rain lately and I need some tips on finding them.I can,t go on another day tomorrow is it.I know the water salinity will be down due to all the fresh water but I am not sure as to what affect it has on them as I don,t live there and don,t fish for them on a regular basis.I also not opposed to catching other fish if you think it would be more productive. Usually I'll be fishing for smaller trout in the High Sierra.
I have a rod and reel, waders and boots, but what do I need as far as hooks, leaders, etc...I have been fishing with other people that have everything, but let's say I want to go by myself - what do I need to make sure I have? Thanks in advance!
fresh water (Montana & Idaho rivers) My rod is a 5 wt.
Going April 11, 12th, and 13th, never been trout fishing before. Using a 5:1:1 ratio Shimano real and a 6 ft rod...Taking two seperate poles, a light and heavy outfit if needed. Not sure of the line to use. Thanks.
