I'd like to chat with someone who really knows the ins and outs of flyfishing for trout and steelhead in the lower yuba river from the hwy. 20 bridge to sycamore ranch. Myself and two freinds fished it yesterday and caught some really hard fighting rainbows from about 16 to 20 inches, they fight so hard I assume these are juvenile steelhead. But it wasnt easy fishing, Really tough river to figure out so someone please help me !
Heading up to the Little Red River this weekend but I have never been trout fishing. Most of the tips I have seen online are for fly fishing but I wont be doing that. Does anyone have any good advice on some good bait and lures and maybe even locations?
I was wondering about all the diffrent types of fly rods, line , and reels and what makes some so expencive and some fairly cheep. I have a 5 piece 8' 6'' #5 graphite White River Indian Point combo it came with a rod, reel ,line leader, and case. It cost about 0. I was considering upgrading my line and mabey my rod soon. But before I even think about that I want to know what am I going to get out of a 0 rod compared to one I have now and compared to one of those 0+ dollar ones. And compared to a reel I have now or a much more expensive ones like 0. And the line should probley be a diffrent question all together but I was thinking this is probley the most important part of the rod setup so could I get some advice on the line. So basically I was wonder What I will get out a rod that cost just as much as a whole set of things just like mine. And I relly don't see the between the two besides a few things like flexability length weight, and most importantly the price.
Im going to fly fish one of the best fly fishing rivers on Long Island. Im not really sure what kind of flies to use this time of the year. If anyone has any idea on a type of fly to use please help...
