What is the best fishing line available?

Bass, Steelhead Trout, Walleye. 8 and 10lbs mono test line. I'm looking for a line that won't spook the fish (Invisible), light but strong, doesn't fray easily, and low memory.

I'm from a small town in the USA near Lake Huron. I do a lot of brook fishing(trout),inland lake fishing for bass, pike, and pan-fish, and only minor fishing in the big lakes for salmon, steelhead, browns and lake trout. I doubt if I'll ever have enough money to go there to Scotland. Tell me: what do you fish for and what do you use?

I am going to fishing at some reservoirs in Idaho. Supposed to be good bass fishing, but does bass fishing slow down in fall? How should I fish for them. i want to outfish my buddy so I need an 'edge'. Also, can you fly fish for bass right now? How can i do it? this will be happening at the end of October, btw.

We are both avid fishermen, but really only farmiliar with spinning rods, fishing for bass and pike. We just got a little place on a trout stream and I want to learn how to fly fish with my man. Any suggestions for two people just starting out? I don't want to invest a fortune because we still want to fish the lakes a lot too.
