I can tell you this though try them both out since I know that steelhead will strike surface flies. They have some surface flies that are made to make wakes and that is supposed to be one of many ways to catch steelhead. I know that they will also strike nymph patterns and many different streamers that are specifically made for steelhead. So once again take some surface and take different flies that are fished underwater. I never ever been to lake Erie. Personally, my feelins' when it comes to technology is that it's gettin' so far, far advanced that sooner or later it's goin' ta' strangle us :(. That be a pretty callus statement, but maybe, jusssst maybe this is a prelude from Yahoo of things to come!!?? . I still stick with my guns, lets take em' ta' court ;)...
