Winter fly fishing for steelhead, salmon river NY. What's your favorite fly?

Let me know what your favorite fly is for winter steelhead. I mostly use glo bugs, but would love some other tips. Thanks.

A few that I always carry with me on the Salmon river:
1) Nuclear eggs (yarn flys) in orange/chartruese or pink/chartruese
2) Black bead head wooly boogers, size 4 or 6 fished down and across then "swung" in the current
3) stone fly nymphs (black and gold) dead drifted
4) and my secret weapon: a size 12 copper john dead drifted
I use an 8 wt rod w/ 250yds backing – floating line, and florocarbon tippet (3x or 4x) nymphs and yarn flys fished w/ an indicator, a few small splitshot to get them deep.
Wooly boogers work well at +750 cfm
Hi, I am absolutly obsessed with fly fishing since you can do it just about in any water with fish. anyway, I would recommend the wet flies.
ex. Spey flies, Green-butt skunk, fall favorites, and thors.
You should get atleast 4 versions of each fly in different sizes.
ex. sizes, 11, 12, 13, 14, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Steel heads love bright colors so use them.
ex. red. green, and oranges, along with purple.
try using paterns of different colors if the you dont get any action for a while.
I prefer the green-butt skunk but different fish work with different colors/flies.
i live about 40 miles north of Pulaski, you are not gonna believe this but Ive used green, red,and orange foam earplugs,i was skeptical when i first heard about it ,but actually caught fish on them, try it if you like
